These are Venco Katjes Drop - proper Dutch hard liquorice - an excellent sucking sweet for walking. And unlike most sweeties I am quite happy with just one or two. These were eaten on our walk along the Hilltop Path above St James.

Oooh, I used to love these hard liquorice when I was little - I rather liked the strong ones, and preferred them to the sweeter ones we usually get in the shop of the Liquorice All-Sorts variety. Though those too have their place! ;-)
