Storms River Mouth, Revisited

Date: 12 August 2011

Location: Storms River Mouth, in the Tsitsikamma National Park

Walkers: Dorothy, Vanessa & Helen

Previous visit to Storms River Mouth here.

It is just a short walk from the Storms River rest camp to the mouth of the river. The path meanders past a pretty waterfall and up into the beautiful indigenous forest.

It is a very lush and green hillside.

The usual path to the suspension bridge across the mouth was closed, with a new path to the right, leading down some steep steps.

Down - down - down we went.

At the bottom we came to one of two new suspension bridges on the western side of the river. These lead one up to the original bridge that crosses the river mouth.

Unfortunately only the first bridge was open.

We went across it, but could go no further.

So we retraced our steps and took our time meandering back along the path, taking in the views at several view spots along the way. And then to the restaurant for tea!

I haven't had the opportunity to visit Storms River Mouth since they built the two new bridges. Its a pity the path and other bridges were closed. I wonder if it happened because of all the rain.
