Late one afternoon I caught a bus from Fira to Kamari on the other side of the island. This resort town is known for its black pebble beaches. I took a stroll along the shore.
I love the sound of waves breaking over pebbles. Whoosh-whoosh. But the stones were not very comfortable underfoot so after a while I opted for the paved walkway alongside the beach instead.
Here I saw natural sponges for sale. Aren't they lovely?
After my walk I picked one of the beachside restaurants for an early supper.
