Delphi has also had the 'flu, so our latest walk along the promenade was decidedly slow. I was tempted to stop for tea at Winchester Mansions.



But we strolled along instead, as far as the pool. It is still closed due to damages in the storms earlier this winter. We watched the sea gulls for a while... they seem to have taken over!



Then, once again, my attention was drawn up to the skies. Are the cloud formations and sunsets always this gorgeous over Sea Point? This particular evening the skies were spectacularly Turneresque.

Muizenberg Stroll

We've walked here before.

Today was a bright but blustery winter's day. We took a slow stroll along the streets of Muizenberg, past the pavilion and along the beach. We didn't walk far (still getting back my strength) but it was lovely to be out.



The brightly-coloured beach houses always look so cheerful.



And it was good to see people enjoying the nice weather.

Hello new little friend!

I've recovered from the swine flu, and the vile winter weather is clearing. Spring is *almost* in the air. Canon Powershot SX200 IS, I can't wait to take you for a walk on the mountain!

Kleinbaai Stroll

A group of us went out to Kleinbaai (small town on the east coast, near Gansbaai) for the long weekend. Us early arrivals took a stroll from our house to the harbour.



There a grassy strip of public land along the shore, perfect for slow ambles.



It was a beautiful crisp and sunny afternoon. The orange gazanias were just beginning to close for the day. Some boys were mucking about in the tidal pool, making the most of the glorious winter weather.



A lot of the houses in Kleinbaai are holiday homes. Many were empty.



We made our way to the small harbour. We watched the local kids fishing off the harbour wall. And we also looked at the boats. Kleinbaai is a good spot for seeing great white sharks and shark cage-diving is a very popular toursist attraction.

Unfortunately this was the only walk I did in Kleinbaai as the next morning I woke up feeling ill. Struck down by the 'flu! The holiday was cut short and I spent a full week sick in bed, taking my medicine and resting. Although I've mostly recovered, a cough and tight wheezy chest linger on, and I won't be able to tackle any long walks just yet. Boo!
