Date: 27 April 2009

Location: Silvermine, off Ou Kaapse Weg, Table Mountain National Park

Walkers

**** Route plotted here ****

Our route started at the entrance gate to Silvermine West. The path runs parallel to the road up to the dam, on the south side of the river.

The Silvermine river was completely dry, despite the recent rain.

The first section of this walk was very easy, just a gentle climb up the valley, through lovely rich fynbos.

About halfway along we got a great views of the surrounds.

As always, lots to see: lizards, spiders and lovely flowers...

We then walked on, into a delightful forest. This second section of the walk was just as easy as the first.

The lush vegetation suggests there is usually much more water about.

Parts of the route were along wooden boardwalks.

We continued on a little further...

... until we reached the dam. We returned to our car along the same route.
